Been a while since I’ve done this. Nobody reads them anyway.
I like this song it’s really nice to listen to vocally and the piano in the background emphasises the voice work really well. The tremble in his voice also just sounds so perfect, as if he’s recording on a chilly winter day. Really great job, I hope can’t see why this song in particular never made it into an album, and yes I am aware of “I’m Gonna Win” by Rob Cantor, but for me the lyrical changes in that song are just a downgrade in comparison. It changes the mood to a more positive aura, where as this version seems somewhat nostalgic which I prefer.
The ELECTRIC part of this electric demo is a great addition and turns the song more into a piece of music than just singing, which is why its also an improvement over the Pingry EP version.
I can’t be arsed to type more out now, it’s really late (2am) and I’ve said enough, just listen to the song its good:
This song is pretty old, like before my parents were born old. From my in depth research, (One google search) apparently it came out in the 1950’s. Who knows if that’s correct.
Thanks Todd, for bringing this song to me. Fallout 4 is full of some proper bangers. I remember in English lessons me and my fellow torture buddy used to just randomly break out into song, literally memorising every Fallout song of by heart, instead of remembering just one poem for GCSE English. The exams got cancelled anyway so we got lucky in that regard.
Reminds me of impending doom…
Kinda sucks really, it is currently 2:16 am and I have college in a few days. Just knowing the end of all my happiness is right around the corner is an exhilarating feeling. It’s like every second lasts forever, but the days pass so quickly. HOW CAN TIME FEEL SO SLOW BUT MOVE SO QUICK!
Did people of the time just sing about nuclear bombardment? It’s like some sort of twisted way of coping with stress I suppose. Sort of like me breaking out into song that I’m going to be tortured in a school for the next 2 years, probably not a bad idea if I’m honest
Kinda feel like these aren’t even about music half the time, just what I’m thinking at the time.
Kinda feel like I’ve said “Kinda” a lot.
Anyway… back to the song. Why are the lyrics so addicting? The way all the instruments and the jazz works together just sounds so good. If u don’t like this song, you are objectively wrong. Its cool that songs like this are forever preserved on the internet, Like the original creator had no idea that it was even possible, and his work is free for everyone to enjoy on YouTube. Does copyright last that long?
I’m not really sure how to start this one, there’s not really anything special about this song to me, it just exists, and I like it. It’s from around 2013 I’m pretty sure, when songs used to be actually good instead of just ear-rape rap music with auto tune so bad, a deaf person could have calibrated it better.
Do you ever notice that? Things just aren’t as good as they used to be. I don’t know if its because I’m becoming older and not finding the things I used to enjoy fun anymore, or if the quality and effort put into things nowadays is just less and worse. I see it in everything time and time again: TV, Film, Games, Music, It’s all gone down hill after around 2017 for me at least.
What was I talking about again? A song or something? It makes me feel like I just want to dance. It’s one of those songs (for me at least) that i just feel obligated to dance about a bit, maybe a little hand movements or foot taps every so often, can’t be having my back give out before I turn 20. Sometimes it feels like one of those songs that just never ends though, and I start paying attention and im like “How has this not ended yet?”. Probably not a good thing.
I used to listen to this “back in the day”, but rediscovered it a year or so ago completely by accident. I’ve said previously that I listen to music through YouTube, and you know when you get sucked into a rabbit hole? That happened to me and led me to this song once again.
Lucky me.
The lyrics are pretty relatable, talking about “Losing sleep”. I’m a professional sleep loser, I’ve been losing sleep for 5 years straight. I’m doing it right now writing this thing, Burning my Retina starring at this bright white text document. I think I know a little more about losing sleep than you do pal, because I invented it.
Has this joke been run into the ground yet? Yes. Yes it has. If you want my opinion on this song overall, I’d say: listen to it at least once before you die, other than that it’ pretty forgettable to be honest.
First of all, this is the first song in my playlist. Every time I hear its famous opening it
makes me feel so relaxed as it promises so many good songs in the playlist to come. For some reason, whenever I it starts, I get reminded of coming home from school, sitting at my desk, cup of tea in hand, mouse in the other, just being ready to chill. It Being the first song in the list is significant because I listen to all my music on YouTube, so whenever I want to listen to my playlist in order or shuffled, its always the first one.
I cant really remember how i discovered this song and, if I’m honest, it may have been through CaptainSparkles “Fallen Kingdom” Minecraft Parody (as shameful as that is). I didn’t really like it that much the first few times I listened to it, but the more I got it in my Ear-holes, the more it grew on me.
Listening to it right now, as I type, makes me think of late-night Garry’s Mod sessions with friends. If you don’t really know much about Garry’s Mod (or gaming), Gmod is a pretty quiet game.Spookily quiet at times. If I’m on a sandbox server by myself, alone at night, the lack of noise makes me feel uncomfortable actually, so usually when I play Murder or TTT, I whack on the old music playlist and get stuck into viva la vida.
It’s probably one of my most played songs, which has kind of ruined it for me a bit. Bear in mind, this is coming from the person who listens to the same 60 songs over and over and over, constantly on loop, so you can safely assume it has definitely been over played. I don’t even know what I like about it really, If u want my professional opinion, I just think it sounds cool. Probably going to be saying that a lot when writing these because I know nothing about music or what instruments even play in the song. Is that a Guitar?, a Synth?, a Violin? I genuinely have no idea. Okay I just Googled what instruments Played in the song and got this:
“cello, violin, piano, acoustic guitar, electric bass, electric guitar, drums and xylophones/mallets.”
I was close enough ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
That’s pretty much all I have to say so in conclusion, I like it because it just gets me in the relaxed zone, but i have definitely ruined it through overplaying.
I basically know next to nothing about music genres or skills or any of that, I just thought it would be cool to write about my favourite songs I listen to all the time. Hey something to do while bored at 3am I guess.
I have no plan or schedule for when I’m going to release a new blog, I’ll just post one when I feel like it. Expect some top notch reviews coming soon, grammar errors and all!
